AVH Ltd is participating in a BBC documentary called "Saints and Scroungers" to be shown later this year or early next year. It is a series of documentaries about the positive of disabled benefits that our Government award disabled persons. AVH Ltd were approached by the BBC to fit thenecessary adaptations on a race prepared Production BMW 320i Automatic. Deatils below. In one particular episode it focuses on a young disabled driver, Aaron Morgan who has a vehicle through the Motability Scheme, (as he is on the higher rate of the mobility allowance) but Aaron is also going to be racing in the Production BMW 320i Cup. No real feat here you may say until you find out that Aaron will be driving a BMW that has Single Lever Push Pull Hand Controls (SLPP) on them and he will be competing against abl bodied drivers. The car has been race prepared by XSport Racing of Bracknell (01344 452020). John Cross, owner of XSport was with Aaron recently at Silverstone for a track day and commented on how well he adapted to the car on his first outing. With a little coaching from XSport Aaron will be racing at the following venues in the coming months followed by The BBC :- 7th June at Rockingham,28/29th June at Lydden Hill,19th July at Snetterton,19/20th September at Silverstone GP and 1st November at Donington. We will be receiving a report from Aaron himself on how the Silverstone track day went along with some race day photographs. Whilst filming AVH Ltd fitting the adaptations to Aaron's BMW, the Director asked Jon Reynolds, Company Director of AVH Ltd if it would be possible to film an interview with him describing what the companies services were. From the initial interview the BBC now want to film further footage of AVH Ltd delivering and handing over an adapted replacement vehicle to one of it's many customers to be used in one of the documentary's. We will update with more information as and when it happens.........WATCH THIS SPACE...... |
